OMCZ Challenge #7 - Geek Chic

Hi Everyone,

I'm writing from the past..... while you are reading this I will still be laying on a beach somewhere with my Pina Colada in one hand a book in the other while Mr M feeds me grapes and fans me (ha ha, the reality is I will probably be nursing a hangover from the all inclusive bar) .
So anyway I thought I better get prepared and schedule this and then I can catch up with everything when I get back at the weekend.

So, its that time again for the latest OMCZ challenge.

This weeks challenge setter was: Gail from http://www.gailygumdrops.blogspot.ie

Challenge: Geek Chic
Thick framed glasses, satchels, video game related stuff.

Hmmm this one proved be a tricky one for me as I don't own any video game related stuff I don't even own a games console, the closest to a video game for me is my unhealthy obsession with Candy Crush, I don't own a satchel or cartoon print other than my PJ's. Maybe I should have just worn them. lol.
No No, I'm going to rise to the challenge and do my own interpretation of Geek Chic with the resources I have.
So, in short, I'm wearing Mr M's Captain America top, Denim shirt AND.... a big challenge for me SHORTS.

Shorts are a big no no for me, but actually when I wore them for this challenge with tights they didn't look bad at all (I think anyway)

I love the way these challenges really do push the boundaries and make you think about an outfit that you wouldn't ordinarily wear but when you do you think 'ooooh I actually look alright'

Outfit:
Denim Shirt: So Fabulous @ Very
Captain America T-Shirt: Mr M's - think it was from Tesco's
Shorts: Simply Be
Tight & Ballet Pumps: George @ Asda
Glasses: Ummm don't know, old pair from fancy dress

Thanks to Gail for setting this challenge it was really good fun and has helped me
A) Release my inner Geek
B) Eliminate my fear of shorts

Now..... Please excuse me I have a game of Candy Crush to finish......

Flash The Flesh

A couple of weeks ago during our weekly Sunday #psbloggerschat over on Twitter a group of us bloggers were talking about our preferences between mini and maxi's and Becky over at www.doesmyblogmakemelookfat.com  thought that it would be great to create a challenge with the goal being to show a little bit more skin and our body (but with style and no vulgarity) showing proudly our curves. And so “Flash the Flesh” was born.

My own particular challenge is to 'flash some leg'.

I don't like my legs at all and so this is my quest to try to learn to love them.

The reason's I don't like them:

a) They are short and stumpy
b) They are so white and pasty
c) I suffer from really dry skin on them
d) I bruise easily on them, if you look closely enough you can see some bruises.

I made the most of the sunshine we had last weekend to take the pics and get me pins out.

I'm not gonna lie the thought of posting a pic of my legs is pretty daunting, I would normal wear this dress with either tights or leggings, but I NEED to embrace them and embrace them I shall... with you all!!

Outfit:
Dress: Inspire at New Look
Wedges: Simply Be
Cardi: George @ Asda
Sunnies: Primark

#OOTD - Simply Be - Hanky Hem Aztec Print Dress

Hey Everyone,

After seeing this dress on the Simply Be website I just knew I HAD to have it.
I have a new obsession with Aztec Prints and this dress ticked all the boxes for me.

My package of new bits and bobs arrived yesterday and ripping the package open in excitement I couldn't wait to show this dress it to you all.

Those of you that saw my Tweet yesterday will know I had had had to try it on instantly and am so in love with it right now.

The whole style just sits really well and the elasticated waist actually hangs lower down which is a bonus, as in the past with elasticated waisted dresses I always found they just didn't sit right and I end up looking like an unusual looking jackolantern, but this one skims my curves really nicely and draws in slightly at my waist, accompanied with the high collar its adds a uniqueness and quirkiness to the outfit.

I opted for the pink colour but you can also get it in turquoise if you check out the website (click here)
I might just have to get that one too.

Hurry up bright sunshine I want to wear this without the need for a cardigan.

Geometric Detail Necklace - Simply Be Review

We all know that statement necklaces are a must have fashion accessory these days, and when the lovely people at
Simple Be sent me this Geometric Detail Necklace to review I was thrilled.
This is one of the boldest, eye catching and most springlike necklaces that I now own.

I cannot wait to wear it with cool summer pastel blouses or with plain black vest tops when the weather gets a bit nicer.

So far I have already worn this at work twice and gotten so many compliments every time.

The only drawback of wearing it at work is its quite heavy and after a while you start to notice its heaviness as the day progresses, if you were to wear for an afternoon or an a night out however I doubt you would notice, on the whole its a gorgeous statement piece that I will be wearing again and again.

You can purchase this necklace from Simply Be I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Outside My Comfort Zone Challenge 4 - Orange / Floral / Bright Lipstick

Hi Everyone,

Two posts in one day, I'm really spoiling you ;)

I'm a bit behind on this post as some of you may know my nan has been really poorly.
She seems to be on the mend and fingers crossed all will be OK.

So, tonight I finally got around to the challenge that Rachel at HappynessMagnet set.

This weeks challenge was: Orange / Floral / Bright Lipstick

I'm already quite a fan of orange
This particular orange blouse is an old one from Primark along with an old New Look Vest top.

The pyjama floral trousers are from Simply Be I got them a little while ago and and have been waiting for an excuse to wear them.
I wore them for the first time over the weekend when we had that teeny bit of sun and I really can't wait for the summer now to show them off properly.

Floral print trousers are a big deal this summer and I have already invested in a few different pairs which no doubt will be appearing on the blog at various points and will be in my suitcase in 5 weeks when we go to Majorca, yippie!!!

As for bright lippie, no problem.... Bright Lips are my favourite, this shade is 'Passionfruit' from Collection 2000, its a shimmery coral colour to accompany the blouse.

My necklace is a little bargain that I picked up from a local charity shop for £2, I jazzed it up with some glittery nail varnish and I'm really pleased with the result.
