The A-Z of US.....

Hey Everyone,

We thought we would do a little post about us and decided to do a
A-Z.

Here goes...

The A-Z of US....

A - Animals. We are both big animal lovers, mainly dogs and we have a Westie called Harvey and he stays at our nans during the day while we work. He is very spoilt but very cute.

B - Bums.  For some reason it's what we call our PJ bottoms, 'i'm just going to put my 'bums' on'... 'can you bring me my 'bums' downstairs.... why I don't know.

C - Coleslaw. Mr M has a phobia of coleslaw, he can't bear to look at it, the smell of it makes him gag, if anyone remotely puts any coleslaw on his plate at a restaurant next to his burger he feels his dinner is instantly ruined unless I scrape it off and wipe that part it was on till every trace is gone, I've even been known to nibble on the edge of a burger off his plate because a bit of coleslaw juice touched it. hahaha.

D - Dandelion and Burdock. We love love love this stuff, every big shop we do we have to buy a couple of bottles

E - Events Co-ordinator. Mr M is an Events Co-ordinator and gets to go to lots of events like Ascot & The Grand Prix and stuff - I never get to go tho :( boooo.

F - Feet. Our feet have to touch in bed every night to be able to sleep. Ahhhhh.

G - Golf.  Mr M likes playing golf but has a poor handicap ;-)

H - Holidays. We  absolutely love our holidays and always aim to go abroad once a year.

I - Italian.  I am half Italian and I love it, I love my Italian roots and I make a mean pasta sauce.

J - Jäger.  This stuff repulses me ever since drinking half a bottle at my sister in laws wedding.

K - Kettle chips.  We have to buy a bag every time we do the big food shop.

L - Laugh. We laugh together every single day without fail.

M - May. We got married in May and we love this month for that and the fact it has TWO Bank Holidays in it!!

N - Netflix. Is our unhealthy obsession right now.

O - Oranges. We both love oranges, random but true.

P - Polystyrene. I have a phobia of it I can't bear to touch it or hear it, even typing this talking about it has given me goosebumps...aaarrrgh.

Q - Quilt hogger. I am a total quilt hogger, I love it, he hates it. Perfect.

R - Roast Dinners.  OhMaaaGawd we make the best team in the kitchen roast dinners are our speciality. Christmas Dinner in our house is amazeballs

S - Silly Faces.  We do a lot of silly faces in the privacy of our own home but Mr M cracks up every time I do a silly sketch called 'my names chubby' anyone heard of it?

T - Toilets. We met outside a nightclub toilet that we both worked at. Mr M already worked there but it was my first night and we bumped into each other getting changed into our promotional t shirts we had to wear for the night. We both remember getting butterflies. Cheesy but true.

U - USA. The best place we have ever been on holiday.

V - Vegas. We desperately want to go back there soon. Its like an adult Disneyland.

W - 'Will you stop flicking through those channels' A common phrase in our house. Mr M is a serial channel hopper.

X - XXL. Mr M's size

Y - Yin to my Yan. Mr M is the yin to my yan. Love him muchly.

Z - Zodiac. We are both the same star sign, Leo's rrrrraaarrrr but I'd I'm more hot headed and passionate about things while Mr M is more laid back.

Hope you enjoyed our little fun A-Z

Love

One....Two....Three....Four....Tell me that you love Essie More.

Good Morning Everyone,

OK, who's singing along to the title?
This song is in my head at the moment and seemed very fitting to do title this post after the song...

As you may be aware I do love my nail varnish and I'll admit I was an Essie virgin until I discovered the world of blogging and so I knew I had to purchase some to try out.

My first Essie purchase is the Mini Springtime Collection for 2013,
Four mini 6ml bottles of springtime colour goodness.  I did a real girlie squeal when it arrived, always something so joyous when you receive a parcel addressed to you knowing what goodies will be inside.

I simply couldn't wait to try these,  and here they are....

The colours are:

1) Go Ginza
2) Avenue Maintain
3) Bond with Whomever
4) Madison Ave Hue

Number Four has to be my favourite but that said, I will use these colours all equally over the summer and they are the perfect mini size bottles to take away on my holiday.

Also, wow, aren't Essie brushes so much easier to paint with and it dries really quick too and they dry so shiny.

I am most definitely and Essie convert now and I think my collection will grow and grow soon.

#OOTD - Simply Be - Hanky Hem Aztec Print Dress

Hey Everyone,

After seeing this dress on the Simply Be website I just knew I HAD to have it.
I have a new obsession with Aztec Prints and this dress ticked all the boxes for me.

My package of new bits and bobs arrived yesterday and ripping the package open in excitement I couldn't wait to show this dress it to you all.

Those of you that saw my Tweet yesterday will know I had had had to try it on instantly and am so in love with it right now.

The whole style just sits really well and the elasticated waist actually hangs lower down which is a bonus, as in the past with elasticated waisted dresses I always found they just didn't sit right and I end up looking like an unusual looking jackolantern, but this one skims my curves really nicely and draws in slightly at my waist, accompanied with the high collar its adds a uniqueness and quirkiness to the outfit.

I opted for the pink colour but you can also get it in turquoise if you check out the website (click here)
I might just have to get that one too.

Hurry up bright sunshine I want to wear this without the need for a cardigan.

Geometric Detail Necklace - Simply Be Review

We all know that statement necklaces are a must have fashion accessory these days, and when the lovely people at
Simple Be sent me this Geometric Detail Necklace to review I was thrilled.
This is one of the boldest, eye catching and most springlike necklaces that I now own.

I cannot wait to wear it with cool summer pastel blouses or with plain black vest tops when the weather gets a bit nicer.

So far I have already worn this at work twice and gotten so many compliments every time.

The only drawback of wearing it at work is its quite heavy and after a while you start to notice its heaviness as the day progresses, if you were to wear for an afternoon or an a night out however I doubt you would notice, on the whole its a gorgeous statement piece that I will be wearing again and again.

You can purchase this necklace from Simply Be I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

How I handle work stress

Good Morning,

Happy Thursday Everyone, for those of you that work Mon - Fri,
we're nearly there its the home stretch... nearly the weekend!!! Woooooo!!

So todays post is about work stress and how I personally handle it....

Whatever job you do there is always going to be a certain amout of stress involved its enevitable, I think even the most perfect idelic jobs have there down moments. Its natural.

I have always tried not to be one of those people that take work stress home, but as of late its been hard not too. Sometimes its can be difficult to seprerate the two no matter how hard you try.

Lately I have been having trouble sleeping, its awful, cogs whirring round my brain mulling over things that you should of done better, or bits that I may have forgotten to do whilst trying to do everything else.

In light of this I have compiled a little list of things that I try to do to combat the demon of work  STRESS!!

1) Talk
Talking is good, weather it be to your husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, mum, dad or even have a good rant with a friend. Sometimes even talking to the dog can help, it gets it all out in the open and makes you feel better (even if the dog can't talk back)

2) Cuddle.
There's nothing nicer than a a great big cuddle as soon as you get home.

3) Exercise.
Go for a walk when you get home or a jog, or do an exercise class. It it proven to help with stress and  releases endorphins, the happy hormone.

4) Wind down.
Whatever you do to wind down and make you feel calm do it, I personally find curling up and watching a romcom perfect wind down, y'know, the type of films where you don't have to over think things, ones that are lighthearted and have happy endings. Some of you may enjoy reading, some of you relish in family time. whatever your wind down niche, do it.
Let all the days work issues float away.

5) Bath.
I find this most definatly the best thing. Lots of bubbles, candles and chilling music. Bliss!!!

These things tend to work for me, others may have different approaches to it.
How do you combat work stresses?

I am slowly realising with each day that passes that life is too short to worry about work stresses. Whatever I can't do today will still be there tomorrow.
Just because I forget to fill in a spreadsheet doesn't mean the world is going to end in an apocolypse its something that can easily be rectified.
I doubt I will ever truly combat it, but all I know is that the things above really help me try to deal with it on a daily basis.

Love

Five Min Follow with Clare from 'A Bit of This and That'

Hi Guys,

Ok so brief explanation, I am changing my 'Five Min Fri Follow' posts to just 'Five Min Follow' as the past few Thursdays and Fridays when I would write them I have been so busy that I haven't gotten around to them sorry guys.
So to alleviate the pressure of having to blog every Friday I have decided I will do a Five Min follow post once a week on a random day.

This weeks Five Min follow is with Clare from A Bit Of This and That

Hi Clare, When and why did you begin blogging?
My little blog began its life last June (its still a baby). I began kind of on the spur of the moment. I had been a reader of blogs for a few years but something made me want to get more involved. I spotted Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter was running an interactive post, I thought I’d have a go and thus my blog began. I have never looked back.

  What is your blog about?
My blog is classed as beauty, fashion and lifestyle. I will ramble on about everything and anything that pops up into my head. I love it because it’s great for me because I am never lacking of anything to say plus it’s good for my readers because if you don’t like fashion they’ll be something in the next post that they might like.

Describe your style in 5 words?
Comfy, girly, varied, vintage inspired

Where do you see your blog in 5 yrs?
In 5 years, wow. I would like to see my blog still going for one thing. I think I’d love to be involved in creating more meet ups, maybe getting more involved with brands, more OOTDs with better angles (I hate that I have to take them in my mirror).

What are you favourite things to blog about?
Favourite things to blog about…hmmm I love blogging hauls just because sharing it makes me feel better about my spending. Random. I also like writing my posts like my let’s talk about range, which included body image, plus size clothing and most recently 90’s music. It’s a way of sharing a bit about me plus they start conversations.

Any last words?
I’d like to say thank you to Emma for inviting me to take part in this feature. Also I’d like to say that if reading this post has wet your appetite  for the random ramblings that I can offer you, pop over to ateeniebitofthisandthat.blogspot.co.uk
Hope to see you soon xxx

Thanks to Clare for taking part.

If you would like to take part in a Five Min Follow then please drop me an email at plussizemillard@gmail.com

Look out for the next Five Min Follow soon.

Love

Bespoke Bling - Summer Rose Review

Hey Everyone,

I have to say I love handmade jewellery and have dabbled in making some myself over the years.

I'm very much all for supporting independent brands and when the lovely guys at Bespoke Bling asked me to try one of their lovely bracelets I was thrilled.

They make stunning handmade jewellery in an array of different styles that are very reasonably priced.

This particular bracelet is called Summer Rose, I received the blue version and it also comes in a lovely pink colour too.

I was particularly drawn to the blue design as I think it will look great with black and accompany some of my outfits well.

This bracelet is perfect to wear in the summer and I imagine I will be wearing it with floaty skirts and vest tops when the weather gets nicer.

Also, this bracelet design comes in the stretchy elastic style which means its easy to wear even if your wrists are slightly larger and its not tight fitting.

This bracelet is £10.00 which for handmade is very reasonable.

Be sure to check out all of the other unique designs and styles over on the Bespoke Bling twitter page which can be found under @bespoke_bling

Thanks to Bespoke Bling for letting me try one of their great designs .
