OMCZ Challenge #7 - Geek Chic

Hi Everyone,

I'm writing from the past..... while you are reading this I will still be laying on a beach somewhere with my Pina Colada in one hand a book in the other while Mr M feeds me grapes and fans me (ha ha, the reality is I will probably be nursing a hangover from the all inclusive bar) .
So anyway I thought I better get prepared and schedule this and then I can catch up with everything when I get back at the weekend.

So, its that time again for the latest OMCZ challenge.

This weeks challenge setter was: Gail from http://www.gailygumdrops.blogspot.ie

Challenge: Geek Chic
Thick framed glasses, satchels, video game related stuff.

Hmmm this one proved be a tricky one for me as I don't own any video game related stuff I don't even own a games console, the closest to a video game for me is my unhealthy obsession with Candy Crush, I don't own a satchel or cartoon print other than my PJ's. Maybe I should have just worn them. lol.
No No, I'm going to rise to the challenge and do my own interpretation of Geek Chic with the resources I have.
So, in short, I'm wearing Mr M's Captain America top, Denim shirt AND.... a big challenge for me SHORTS.

Shorts are a big no no for me, but actually when I wore them for this challenge with tights they didn't look bad at all (I think anyway)

I love the way these challenges really do push the boundaries and make you think about an outfit that you wouldn't ordinarily wear but when you do you think 'ooooh I actually look alright'

Outfit:
Denim Shirt: So Fabulous @ Very
Captain America T-Shirt: Mr M's - think it was from Tesco's
Shorts: Simply Be
Tight & Ballet Pumps: George @ Asda
Glasses: Ummm don't know, old pair from fancy dress

Thanks to Gail for setting this challenge it was really good fun and has helped me
A) Release my inner Geek
B) Eliminate my fear of shorts

Now..... Please excuse me I have a game of Candy Crush to finish......

MUA Power Pout - Broken Hearted

Good Evening Everyone,

Firstly an apology, I feel that I have neglected the beauty aspect of my blog of late. But rest assured I still adore make up and today I wanted to share with you my new lipstick love from MUA.

I am a total sucker for all the MUA products lately, they are so cheap (but in a good way) everyone loves a bargain and it seems every time I'm in Super drug a few more items end up in my basket.

Today I want to tell you about

MUA Power Pout - Broken Hearted

A colour intense tint and balm
The range is similar to the Clinque Chubby Sticks which I also love, but the MUA version is so much cheaper at £3.00 each compared to Clinque being £16.00 each.

This balm/lipstick (I call it a lipstick) is really lovely and the pencil style effect makes it easy to apply  and its very moisturising when its on.
I went for the colour Broken Hearted but you can also get these in five other shades  Rendez Vous, Irreplaceable, Crazy in Love, Runway and Justify.

Another thing I noticed about this was the smell.... it smells minty, its really nice.

Minty Freshness

Lovely colour when its on and you can actually see how moisturising it is.

I hope you agree that if you love chubby sticks or MUA or tinting lipbalms in general this is deffo a purchase you need to get.

I'm off to get the other colours now before they sell out, you can also purchase these on the MUA website here

Flash The Flesh

A couple of weeks ago during our weekly Sunday #psbloggerschat over on Twitter a group of us bloggers were talking about our preferences between mini and maxi's and Becky over at www.doesmyblogmakemelookfat.com  thought that it would be great to create a challenge with the goal being to show a little bit more skin and our body (but with style and no vulgarity) showing proudly our curves. And so “Flash the Flesh” was born.

My own particular challenge is to 'flash some leg'.

I don't like my legs at all and so this is my quest to try to learn to love them.

The reason's I don't like them:

a) They are short and stumpy
b) They are so white and pasty
c) I suffer from really dry skin on them
d) I bruise easily on them, if you look closely enough you can see some bruises.

I made the most of the sunshine we had last weekend to take the pics and get me pins out.

I'm not gonna lie the thought of posting a pic of my legs is pretty daunting, I would normal wear this dress with either tights or leggings, but I NEED to embrace them and embrace them I shall... with you all!!

Outfit:
Dress: Inspire at New Look
Wedges: Simply Be
Cardi: George @ Asda
Sunnies: Primark

Go and check out how all the other lovely ladies took on their
Flash The Flesh
challenge on the links below.

Meet Baby Eliana

Hey Everyone,

Finally after what seemed like the longest pregnancy for my gorgeous best friend Bec Bec, finally her new lil baby girlie is here.

The best wake up call I had at 1.30am on Wednesday morning to say she had arrived safe and sound.

Here she is Baby Eliana with her gorgeous mummy Becky and her super duper proud big sister Sofia.

Auntie Em obvs had to have cuddles too, she is so light and dinky and a little snorter, super cute.

Sofia has also developed a love of the camera too, she likes saying Cheeeeeeeeeeese now.

Love them all to bits

OMCZ Challenge #6 - Neon

Hi Everyone,

Its that time again for the latest OMCZ challenge.

This week the challenge is slightly different, we are all taking turns in setting them for each other.
This weeks challenge setter was:
Steph from http://www.seeingsp0ts.blogspot.co.uk

Neon
Your choice, be it clothing, accessories, make up.
At least 1 neon colour but the more the merrier.

Well today I decided on a really old Neon Pink top of mine from River Island, I usually wear it for bed but hey ho, for the purposes of a challenge I've revived it for normal wear.

Also the first showing on the blog of my new haircut, I've had a good 5 inches cut from my hair just over a week ago now. I love it, my head feels so light now. Nothing like a new 'do' to make you feel better. I'm going lighter over the next few months, going to do it gradually so look out for a more 'Blonder Em' in the coming months.

Anyhoo you may have also noticed my little special guest also sporting his Neon Green bandana.
Yep its my lil Harvey.

Harvey & Me

Love my lil Harveypoo

He looks so cool in his bandana

Old Oversized Neon and a smile in the sun.

Outfit:
Top: River Island
Black Hareem Trousers: New Look
Gold Sandals: Next
Sunglasses: Primark

Happy 6th Anniversary To Us...

Morning Everyone,

Love this one of us. Can you tell Chris hates the camera tho :)

Excuse the lack of blogging it's been a busy old Bank Holiday, beach frolics, holiday shopping (yes more) spending time with family and celebrating our wedding anniversary.
It seems the more the sun comes out the less time I spend on the computer and I am easily distracted.

Anyway, yesterday was our 6th Wedding Anniversary. six blissful years with the man I love.
The time has flown by so quickly.
All I can say is I would not be without this man.
He is my whole world and these six years have been one of the most joyous as well as the hardest. Who know if we will ever have a family, I hope so, but for the moment we are taking it one year at a time and just enjoying married life and each other.

I thought I would just share a few of our wedding snaps with you all.

My brother who gave me away and my gorgeous bridesmaids just arrived at the church

Awww just left the church - Properly married now

Obligatory garden shot :)

Eskimo Kiss - My favourite - we have this one blown up at home.

C'mon everyone lets lift the heavy - I mean happy couple - The funniest shot

Us Yesterday

Have a lovely day everyone.

To You Tube or Not to You Tube... That is the Question....?

source

Hi Everyone,

So lately I have been pondering into setting up my You Tube again,
I set it up in January along with the blog and did like 3x videos, all of which I wasn't very happy with and to be honest I was only tinkering really, but due to lack of time and I guess privacy (hate to film if family are around) I decided to kinda give up.... No one likes a quitter huh!

Just recently I have been finding myself asking if I should start it back up again?

I love You Tube and most evenings I find myself watching a few of either beauty videos, daily vlogs, lifestyle videos, videos of hope in fertility struggles, funnies... the list is endless.
My favourites are Miss Budget Beauty along with her vlog channel Meet the McCools and I love Michelle's videos over on Chelenic focusing on her IVF story and success.

I really want to venture back into it and try again properly, but I do worry that I'm not interesting enough or if people will slate me. But then again I guess we all have to develop tough skin at times.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Should I try again? Has anyone got any tips?

The A-Z of US.....

Hey Everyone,

We thought we would do a little post about us and decided to do a
A-Z.

Here goes...

The A-Z of US....

A - Animals. We are both big animal lovers, mainly dogs and we have a Westie called Harvey and he stays at our nans during the day while we work. He is very spoilt but very cute.

B - Bums.  For some reason it's what we call our PJ bottoms, 'i'm just going to put my 'bums' on'... 'can you bring me my 'bums' downstairs.... why I don't know.

C - Coleslaw. Mr M has a phobia of coleslaw, he can't bear to look at it, the smell of it makes him gag, if anyone remotely puts any coleslaw on his plate at a restaurant next to his burger he feels his dinner is instantly ruined unless I scrape it off and wipe that part it was on till every trace is gone, I've even been known to nibble on the edge of a burger off his plate because a bit of coleslaw juice touched it. hahaha.

D - Dandelion and Burdock. We love love love this stuff, every big shop we do we have to buy a couple of bottles

E - Events Co-ordinator. Mr M is an Events Co-ordinator and gets to go to lots of events like Ascot & The Grand Prix and stuff - I never get to go tho :( boooo.

F - Feet. Our feet have to touch in bed every night to be able to sleep. Ahhhhh.

G - Golf.  Mr M likes playing golf but has a poor handicap ;-)

H - Holidays. We  absolutely love our holidays and always aim to go abroad once a year.

I - Italian.  I am half Italian and I love it, I love my Italian roots and I make a mean pasta sauce.

J - Jäger.  This stuff repulses me ever since drinking half a bottle at my sister in laws wedding.

K - Kettle chips.  We have to buy a bag every time we do the big food shop.

L - Laugh. We laugh together every single day without fail.

M - May. We got married in May and we love this month for that and the fact it has TWO Bank Holidays in it!!

N - Netflix. Is our unhealthy obsession right now.

O - Oranges. We both love oranges, random but true.

P - Polystyrene. I have a phobia of it I can't bear to touch it or hear it, even typing this talking about it has given me goosebumps...aaarrrgh.

Q - Quilt hogger. I am a total quilt hogger, I love it, he hates it. Perfect.

R - Roast Dinners.  OhMaaaGawd we make the best team in the kitchen roast dinners are our speciality. Christmas Dinner in our house is amazeballs

S - Silly Faces.  We do a lot of silly faces in the privacy of our own home but Mr M cracks up every time I do a silly sketch called 'my names chubby' anyone heard of it?

T - Toilets. We met outside a nightclub toilet that we both worked at. Mr M already worked there but it was my first night and we bumped into each other getting changed into our promotional t shirts we had to wear for the night. We both remember getting butterflies. Cheesy but true.

U - USA. The best place we have ever been on holiday.

V - Vegas. We desperately want to go back there soon. Its like an adult Disneyland.

W - 'Will you stop flicking through those channels' A common phrase in our house. Mr M is a serial channel hopper.

X - XXL. Mr M's size

Y - Yin to my Yan. Mr M is the yin to my yan. Love him muchly.

Z - Zodiac. We are both the same star sign, Leo's rrrrraaarrrr but I'd I'm more hot headed and passionate about things while Mr M is more laid back.

Hope you enjoyed our little fun A-Z

Love

One....Two....Three....Four....Tell me that you love Essie More.

Good Morning Everyone,

OK, who's singing along to the title?
This song is in my head at the moment and seemed very fitting to do title this post after the song...

As you may be aware I do love my nail varnish and I'll admit I was an Essie virgin until I discovered the world of blogging and so I knew I had to purchase some to try out.

My first Essie purchase is the Mini Springtime Collection for 2013,
Four mini 6ml bottles of springtime colour goodness.  I did a real girlie squeal when it arrived, always something so joyous when you receive a parcel addressed to you knowing what goodies will be inside.

I simply couldn't wait to try these,  and here they are....

The colours are:

1) Go Ginza
2) Avenue Maintain
3) Bond with Whomever
4) Madison Ave Hue

Number Four has to be my favourite but that said, I will use these colours all equally over the summer and they are the perfect mini size bottles to take away on my holiday.

Also, wow, aren't Essie brushes so much easier to paint with and it dries really quick too and they dry so shiny.

I am most definitely and Essie convert now and I think my collection will grow and grow soon.

#OOTD - Simply Be - Hanky Hem Aztec Print Dress

Hey Everyone,

After seeing this dress on the Simply Be website I just knew I HAD to have it.
I have a new obsession with Aztec Prints and this dress ticked all the boxes for me.

My package of new bits and bobs arrived yesterday and ripping the package open in excitement I couldn't wait to show this dress it to you all.

Those of you that saw my Tweet yesterday will know I had had had to try it on instantly and am so in love with it right now.

The whole style just sits really well and the elasticated waist actually hangs lower down which is a bonus, as in the past with elasticated waisted dresses I always found they just didn't sit right and I end up looking like an unusual looking jackolantern, but this one skims my curves really nicely and draws in slightly at my waist, accompanied with the high collar its adds a uniqueness and quirkiness to the outfit.

I opted for the pink colour but you can also get it in turquoise if you check out the website (click here)
I might just have to get that one too.

Hurry up bright sunshine I want to wear this without the need for a cardigan.
